Headwaters Music and Arts will host musician Dan Navarro

August 14—BEMIDJI — Headwaters Music and Arts will welcome nationally touring musician and songwriter Dan Navarro to Bemidji for a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, followed by a guitar workshop for 13-year-olds and adults from 1 to 4 years old. pm on Sunday, September 4 at Headwaters, 519 Minnesota Ave. NW.
Navarro’s long and eclectic resume includes songwriter, recording artist, singer, voice actor and arts advocate, according to a statement.
He began his career writing songs for a wide range of artists, including Pat Benatar (for Grammy-nominated “We Belong”), The Bangles, Jackson Browne, Dave Edmunds, The Temptations, Dionne Warwick, The Triplets , Dutch star Marco Borsato and Austin. outlaw legend Rusty Weir, according to the statement.
In the 1990s and 2000s, Navarro worked with Eric Lowen as they recorded and toured as the acclaimed acoustic duo Lowen and Navarro until Lowen’s retirement in 2009. Navarro transitioned into a busy solo career during of the past decade, touring nationally almost constantly.
Navarro’s long-awaited first real studio album, “Shed My Skin”, was released in 2019. He has a parallel career as a voice actor and singer, in films like “The Playmobil Movie”, “Pirates of the Caribbean : Deadmen Tell No Tales”, “The Book of Life”, “Rio”, “Happy Feet”, “The Lorax” and Ice Age’s 2 and 3. With the television series “Turbo Fast”, “Prison Break”, “Family Guy” and “American Dad,” the statement said.
Most recently, Navarro sang on six Lin-Manuel Miranda songs in the Disney movie “Encanto,” and in February, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.
