Job of Assistant Professor in Music Performance at NEW YORK UNIVERSITY ABU DHABI

The Arts and Humanities Division at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for Adjunct Professorships in Music Performance. Please note that there may not be availability at this time, but applications will be kept on file and reviewed based on emerging needs.

Responsibilities may include teaching group performance lessons (beginners and intermediate), individual lessons and/or ensembles. The typical time commitment is between 4 and 8 hours of class time per week.

Candidate specializations may include, but are not limited to: woodwinds, brass, orchestral strings, piano, guitar/bass, percussion, drums, vocals, and instruments of Arabic musical traditions ( including Oud, Qanun, Nay, Violin and Voice).

Qualifications

Qualifications required

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • UAE citizen or holder of a UAE residency visa.
  • Eligible for an NOC letter from current employer/sponsor (if applicable) allowing the candidate to teach at NYUAD.
  • Accomplished professional interpreter.
  • Experience as a teacher at multiple levels of student development.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

Desired diplomas

  • Bachelor’s degree in music required; Masters or PhD preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent at teaching a diverse population of students
