Leland’s Musical Arts Celebration features local artists and musicians from across the country

2019 Leland Musical Arts Celebration | Saturday September 14 | 7:30 p.m.
The initial idea for Leland Musical Arts Celebration came from local resident and oboist Mezraq Ramli. He envisioned an evening of classical music featuring musicians from across the country and even the world. Now in its third year, the Leland Musical Arts Celebration intrigues many musicians who wish to visit and perform at this wonderful location, the Old Art Building in Leland. This year’s music will feature works from the music of Bach, Beethoven Mozart and Shultz.
This year’s musicians:
- Drivers – Eric Allen, Barry Martin
- Oboe – Susie Rockett, Dr. Mezraq Ramli
- Clarinets -Anastasiya Nyzkodub, Jeanmarie Riccobono
- Bassoons – Lauren Murphy, Vince Ocampo
- Horns – Andrea Denis, Lisa Honeycutt
The evening will also feature the works of artist Fred Petroskey. Petroskey was born and raised in Leelanau County and has created a body of work that spans over 50 years. Sadly, Petroskey passed away in November 2018. This special exhibit, in his honor, will feature some of the many portraits and paintings that hung in living rooms, businesses, and even the state capitol building. See several of his works below.
