Meet Your Musician: The Turntable Review

Editor’s Note: The Vail Daily features local musicians in a new series called “Meet Your Musician” so you can learn a little more about the voices behind the tunes. If you are a local musician and would like to be part of this series, please email Tricia Swenson (tswenson@vaildaily.com) and Sean Naylor (snaylor@vaildaily.com).

Q: How long have you been playing in the Valley?

A: Since 2002

Q: Where have you played in the Valley?

A: Almost everywhere, but especially The Westin, Vilar Performing Arts Center, The Ritz, The 10th, Four Seasons, Sonnenalp Hotle Vail, 4 Eagle Ranch. Some memorable ones, Bair Ranch, Tigiwon Community House, Shrine Pass, Garton’s and 8150 and some notable campfires.

Q: What is your dream location (in the valley or elsewhere)?

A: The Vilar is an amazing place to play. Red Rocks would be amazing, our drummer Mark Levy played live with his other band Circles Around the Sun. My dream location would be to perform with the Colorado Symphony at Boettcher Concert Hall.

Q: What other styles of music do you (and your band members) listen to?

A: We listen to a lot of local music. Our friends here in Colorado have done amazing work and are inspiring us! There isn’t a genre that we don’t like.

Q: How does the music scene in Vail Valley compare to other places you’ve played?

A: Vermont has an amazing music scene, so we’re glad we got to experience it. Vail is very generous with musicians. Sites and fans are very supportive. The amount of talent in this valley alone is staggering and we have an incredible and wider network of top musicians.

Q: What can the public expect from one of your performances?

A: The duo is listening to Candy. The harmonies between Joe and Terry are ones that can only be between siblings. The full group is a dance festival. Always melodic but energetic.

Q: Where can readers see a list of your upcoming shows?

A: TheTurntableRevue.com

Q: Do you have anything else to share?

A: Families that play together stay together. There’s nothing like sharing the love of music on stage. We are a family group. We pinch ourselves every day to be able to do this.
