Penticton high school students will join an award-winning musician on stage for the Christmas show

A man who has performed alongside Bruno Mars, Train and One Republic will have youth-inspired company when he takes the Penticton stage in December.
Vernon’s Andrew Allen will be joined by students from Penticton Secondary and the local Academy of Arts Music when he performs at the Cleland Theater on December 16, for a Christmas-themed performance.
The 41-year-old has scored five top 10 hits in Canada, while writing with artists like Carly Rae Jepsen and Meghan Trainor.
The musician’s show will be the last edition of the Route97 Culture Road Trip Series in 2022.
“Having a nationally recognized artist round out the series and spread the holiday cheer will be fantastic,” said Mark Greenhalgh of Penticton’s Misty Mountain Production and one of the series’ co-creators.
Allen’s chart-topping hits include “I Wanna Be Your Christmas,” but his landmark single, “Loving You Tonight,” helped land him on tour with the aforementioned superstars, as well as The Barenaked Ladies.
“Andrew Allen is an incredible talent,” said Mandy Wheelwright, the other co-creator of the Okanagan series. “His Christmas show at Cleland on December 16, featuring local students and performers, is sure to be a great holiday experience for all of us in the South Okanagan.”
Tickets for the show are on sale now and can be purchased here.
Ahead of Allen’s appearance at the Cleland Theatre, the venue is hosting Juno Award-winning William Prince on December 2 for another edition of the Route97 Culture Road Trip series.
