The Recording Industry’s Music Performance Trust Fund Announces North American Celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month in April 2022

Public performances are scheduled from Saskatoon at San Antonio, Honolulu at Houston and many intermediate points; each will explore aspects of this uniquely American art form. All performances were coordinated through the efforts of local chapters of the American Federation of Musicians. Some larger events were organized over several days in the form of mini-festivals, such as:

  • vibe adelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • The future of jazz Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Explosion of the Big Band in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota

Performances supported by the MPTF include 163 in-person events and 61 livestreamed concerts, 46 of which will be streamed via the MPTF’s Facebook event page at https://www.facebook.com/the.mptf. Music enthusiasts are encouraged to like and follow the page for a full schedule of streaming events and to receive event notifications.

Jazz Appreciation Month was established at the Museum of American History in 2001 to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary heritage and history of jazz, and to stimulate and encourage people of all ages to participate – to study music , go to concerts, listen to jazz on the radio. and recordings, read jazz books and more.
